CDCP

The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federally funded program that helps provide dental care to Canadians without dental insurance and who have an annual net income below $90,000. This plan covers all kinds of services like preventive care, periodontal care, oral surgeries, restorative interventions, prosthodonctic treatments, and more.

Important to Note

  • Members of the program must reapply for it annually to remain eligible 
  • Families with a net income from $70, 000 to $89,000 will require a co-payment 
  • Patients must also cover any additional costs exceeding the CDCP’s established fees
  • Dental providers may charge fees above the program’s set rates 

How Do I Know if I’m Eligible for the CDCP?

Anyone who wishes to benefit from the program must meet the criteria set by the Government of Canada.

  • No Access to Dental Insurance
  • Family Net Income Below $90,000

  • Adjusted Family Net Income Between $80,000 and $90,000

  • Crown Lengthening Procedures
  • Three-Quarter Crowns
  • Fixed Bridges (Prosthodontics)
  • Composite or Ceramic Veneers
  • Bone Grafting

Treatments Requiring Pre-Authorization

  • Cores and Posts for Tooth Restoration
  • Specialist Consultations and Examinations
  • Placement of Partial Acrylic or Cast Dentures for the First Time
  • Procedures Involving Moderate, Deep, or General Anesthesia 
  • Including Sedation Exceeding Frequency Limits
  • Orthodontic Treatments (Available Starting in 2025)
  • Advanced Surgical Procedures
  • Root Canal Re-Treatment, Apicoectomy, Retrofilling, and Root Canal Therapy on Third Molars
  • Crowns for Dental Restoration
  • Interproximal Disking to Adjust or Shape Teeth

  • Fluoride Applications

  • Diagnostic Procedures

  • Full Dentures and Other Standard Prosthodontic Solutions
  • Root Canal Therapy and Related Endodontic Services
